Okay, Marlins. I know some of you are reading this summer!!! Tell us what you're reading (title and author) and how many books you've already read. This will be a great way for us to recommend books to each other. Let's show Mr. Koczot that we love to read!!!
I have just finished my first book and I'm now starting one that I bought at our last book fair. It's called "Things I want my daughters to know" by Elizabeth Noble.

Last night I saw "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" again on tv. I read this series a few years ago. Girls, if you haven't read these books, they are fun summer reads! For everyone I would also recommend: "Once Upon a Marigold" by Jean Ferris. Boys, if you haven't read "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton this is a classic and a must-read!
Thanks Mr. Koczot for setting this up. Now the question is, what are YOU reading now?

I have read 2 books already,
1st: Peace,Love, and Baby Ducks by Lauren Myracle
2nd: The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams

The one im reading now is:
Waiting for You by Susane Colasanti.

Its about a a sophomore girl who is ready for a fresh start and, more importantly, a boyfriend. So when the handsome and popular Derek asks her out, Marisa thinks her long wait for happiness is over. But several bumps in the road --- including her parents’ unexpected separation, a fight with her best friend, and a shocking disappointment in her relationship with Derek --- test Marisa’s ability to maintain her new outlook.Only the anonymous DJ, whose underground pod casts have the school’s ear, seems to understand what Marisa is going through. But she has no idea who he is or so she thinks.

Good job, Amber and Deja! I knew I could count on you two to read all summer long!!! I'm proud of both of you.
Now, are there any boys out there who are reading???

No Mrs. Blackwell... I'll answer that for you... There are no boys out there that are reading! They are staying up late playing video games, watching T.V., and they are out playing sports or going swimming. There is no time for any boy to read... we just can't fit it in our schedule. Oh... I almost forgot, some boys like Nick, Jacob, Aaron, Daniel, and Hunter F. are out watching the girls on the beach, or trying to get a date. Definately no time for them to read.

Where are my readers??? Come on boys, let's prove Mr. Koczot wrong! Is there anyone out there who is reading anything .... comic books, the back of cereal boxes, books on how to meet/talk to girls, video game cheat sheets? I would think that Allen, Wade, Dooley, Jackson, J. Davis, and maybe Issac would be reading AR books. Are you too busy reading to blog? So far, the girls are dominating in summer reading!
By the way, thanks to Mr. Koczot's inspiration, I just started working on a blog of my own. Check it out at mrsblackwell.blogspot.com

You are SO RIGHT! The boys have no excuse! I am getting ready to finish my second book (which is over 500 pages) plus, I have 2 kids and a husband to take care of! People who love to read will always find a way to squeeze in the time!
